Transforming PLM Talents to sell complex solutions vs. products sale

PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) was a global division of IBM that belonged successfully to the IBM Industrial Sector and later to the IBM Software Group (SWG). In 2000, the dream of the PLM Globl Executive was to integrate PLM highly talented human resources (sales, technical pre-sales, and services) into the large IBM talent approach, and to transform them in highly effective industry solutions sellers. I had the privilege to be selected among many International IBM Learning consultants to work alongside some of IBM's most talented career development professionals to come up with a complete program including a competency framework, a training program, a skill assessment annual activity, and a professional certification for each critical job role. The result: PLM became a stunning example among other IBM divisions and a successful organization which continued to grow to the point of being valued and sold in 2010 to the number one market leader in PLM activities, Dassault Systemes.

 

 

Project on Creating Change in the Meise Botanic Garden

 

The project is about the creation and development of two new programs in support of the Botanic Garden’s visions: “The Friends Membership Program” & “The Corporate Support Program”. I am acting as an external consultant with the project leader in order to boost the interest the Grand Public as well as Corporations and SME market currently have. The goal is to attract new individual members as friends to the garden, as well as the support of business to Meise Botanic Garden’s overall mission of exploring, studying, and describing the vegetal world, preserving it, and making it known in order to build together a sustainable future.

 

 

 

"Team Building for Change" at an International Air Trafic Control Organisation (by my partner "The GreenHouse Group")

 

This customer works in an extremely complex and technical environment. Behind the façade of systems and controls is a team that faces remote locations, tight deadlines, resource pressures, cultural differences and a stream of changes. This organisation brought the GreenHouse Group in to facilitate a three day, off-site programme to help their core team of 25 people improve their skills in managing the changes that were impacting their people right across Europe. GreenHouse Group teamed up with an outdoor adventure company to develop a programme.

Result: this motivated team members to embrace the changes, challenged their assumptions and helped them to work better together as a team.

Projects with HealthCare Clients

All Vijaya Sawant’s projects are successful and unique in nature. To trigger system behavioral change, she conducts root causes analysis, creates conducive environments, spreads awareness, and organizes education on how to rectify the problem. Viajaya has worked 20 years in India out of which 5 years on rural development and poverty elimination programs. She was instrumental in running “help programs” for providing people who are below poverty line to earn income. She cannot forget the respect she was getting from them their eyes, smiling faces and folding hands still sometimes come back in her dreams.

 

Recently in Canada, the current company she owns, Oratechsolve, created a personal health portal for all Albertans to access quality consumer health information and decision tools. Alberta's Personal Health Portal (PHP) is envisioned to become the Alberta source for trusted health information and secure online health services that will empower Albertans in managing their health and wellness. The Personal Health Portal (PHP) project is a partnership between Alberta Health and Wellness (AHW) and Alberta Health Services (AHS) to improve access to the health system through an innovative web-based portal. The multi-year, multi-phase provincial initiative is designed to help Albertans make decisions about staying well, find information about programs and services, access the health system and manage personal health conditions. This project was focused on improving Albertan’s access to an expanded breadth and depth of quality consumer health information and decision tools. "
